 Considerations:
Will people want to buy a deck with your theme? (who is your audience?)
Will other designers want to design a deck around this theme?
Does this theme provide enough visual ideas for designs on cards? (12 face cards, 4 Aces, 36 number cards, 2 jokers )
Final Composition:
Final design will need to fit into a 2.5" x 3.5"  @ 300 dpi.
1 Deck - 54 cards, 9 cards each (one person will need to volunteer to design the cover)
Responsible for your cards, bringing your own twist and original ideas
You may create the illustrations in any format you'd prefer, Illustrator, Photoshop or the iPad using Adobe CC Mobile Apps
Once the project is completed it must be submitted to Schoology and your favorite card must be printed out.
SKETCHES AND INSPIRATION
Initial Sketches and Photos
I was tasked with creating 6 cards: the Queen of Spades, Ace of Hearts, and the 6 of all 4 suits. For each suit, a different decade is represented, and for my set of designs, I chose to illustrate iconic or famous sporting moments from the 80's, 90's, 00's, and 10's.
Clubs - 2010's
Diamonds - 2000's
Spades - 1990's
Hearts - 1980's
FINAL CARDS AND PROCESS
Queen of Spades - Brandi Chastain and the United States Womens Soccer Team win the 1999 World Cup
6 of Clubs - Cristiano Ronaldo's iconic bicycle kick to help Real Madrid win the 2019/2020 Champions League
6 of Hearts - Mike Tyson paired with 80s iconic video game Punch-Out
Ace of Hearts - Bo Jackson, a true ace in both baseball and football
6 of Diamonds - Boston Red Sox win their first World Series in 86 years in 2004
6 of Spades - Chicago Bulls win their 6th NBA Championship in 1998
